Borderlands is my reference to states that exist between awake and asleep, between the conscious and the unconscious. It is the place of hypnagogic and hypnopompic states. Some of these mental creations can be easily explained, but others invite deeper analysis. We are creatures of myth and magic. We need stories and visions as much as science.  God knows we have enough “experts.” 

The pictures in this collection are not depictions of specific dreams. They are an attempt to come to terms with the one-third of life that is dedicated to things other than wakefulness and consciousness.
