The photographs and artwork shown on these pages are mostly recent. Recent means since 2010. Before then, my efforts consisted of commercial work in print, and studio photography. At the end of 2010 I retired from a teaching position in photography and computer graphics that spanned almost 30 years.
I have two degrees — one in Literature and another in Fine Art (Photography). At one time I taught writing courses. When I was much younger I worked for a number of smaller Canadian newspapers.
Since 2010, I have photographed on Vancouver Island. It is a beautiful place — silent, dark and damp during much of the winter, brilliant and colourful in summer. The forests here are an endless source of inspiration, and the ocean is a powerful force of nature. Time has also afforded me the chance to delve deep into my own experience of digital art to explore the conscious and unconscious mind.
I have omitted titles for some of the work shown on this site, but have retained them when they contribute to meaning.
